Laurent entered the film industry in 2002 by composing the soundtrack of Irene directed by Ivan Calbérac, who later assigned to him the music of On va s'aimer (2006), Alternate Weeks (and Half the Vacation) (2009) and most recently The Student and Mister Henri (2015). He also teams up with other directors such as Reem Kherici (Paris or Perish), Phillipe Lioret, Michel Boujenah or Olivier Casas. Meanwhile, Laurent worked for television: He signed the original music for several TV movies including Simple (France 2), Eleonore: The Masked Vengeance (France 3) and most recently worked on the series Be Happy (France 2). He also composed for several cartoon series aimed for children and broadcasted on major french channels.
Theater also regularly call on him : he crafted several pieces such as Tout un cinéma (Comedy Caumartin), The Student and Mister Henri (Théâtre de Paris) and more recently A model Family (Théâtre Montparnasse).
In 2017, Laurent Aknin signs the original music of Baby Phone directed by Olivier Casas and gets back with director Reem Kherici for her second feature film, Weeding Unplanned. He also composes the music of the animated series Helen's Little School broadcasted on France 5.
